Sami Swoi offers authentic Polish dishes and drinks with an international twist, demonstrating how the cuisine of Poland, Hungary, and the Czech and Slovak Republics have influenced, and been influenced by, the rest of the world.
Our restaurant was established in 2003 in Chicago, Illinois. Its name means “among friends”, after a well known Polish film about neighbors who begin as enemies and move apart, but once reunited feel how strongly that they have missed each other. Sami Swoi was founded and created by owner Thomas Debicki to provide a warm and welcoming experience for diners looking for tasty and authentic food prepared skillfully and with love, where it feels just like home.
Amidst a thriving Polish community in Chicago, Sami Swoi has distinguished itself as a restaurant with an atmosphere that appeals to all ages, and a menu that retains the hallmarks of the Old World, but made special by a modern approach.
Whether you come to the restaurant for our traditional hearty dishes, our fresh and inventive version of contemporary Central European food, or as a meeting place to get together with friends for drinks and conversation,
